Until 1997, I lived my entire life in either Memphis, TN or Columbus, GA. That was the year I packed up and moved to Chicago, IL, which was quite the shock to me. I moved up on April 1st, and it snowed on April 15th. I was wondering what I had gotten myself into!
Two years later, I can remember standing at my bus stop in Lincoln Park at 6:00am with a dizen other people. It was 5 degrees out with a nice stiff wind blowing off Lake Michigan straight into all of our faces. The others all looked so miserable and I loved it so much I was laughing out loud. I miss Chicago winters.
That’s not to say I would have enjoyed the weather today. A high of 11 below???? That’s just crazy.
